  • Open the Group Policy Management panel and found a new Group Policy Object.
  • Enter GPO name and source as none
  • On the Settings, right-click on User Configuration or Computer Configuration and select Edit.
  • Right-click on the registry and select New Registry Item from the drop-down menu. You can deploy the registry key under user configuration or computer configuration.

 

Specify the Registry information in the form as below:

  1. Action : “Create”
  2. Hive : “HKEY_CURRENT_USER”
  3. Key path : Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync\AddinPreference
  4. Value name : EnableOptimizeProcessSearch
  5. Value type : REG_DWORD
  6. Value data : 1
  7. Base: Decimal

 

Remark that by default, the EnableOptimizeProcessSearch is 0, so you have to create and apply the beyond GPO to permit the issue.

 

KB 4294968:

It’s showing orange dot without a count is shown for a conversation in Skype for Business 2016

 

Indications:

If you have no any unread messages for any conversation before you sign out MS Skype for Business 2016 and when you sign in again, it may show orange dot without a count is indicated for the conversation.

 

Resolution:

For solving this problem, you just need to install KB4022155 update for Skype for Business 2016 released on June 5, 2018

 

KB 4294971:

Skype for Business 2016 or 2015 crashes in a Citrix-based VDI environment

 

Indications:

When you use Microsoft Skype for Business 2015 or 2016 in a Citrix-based Virtual Desktop Infrastructure environment, the Skype for a Business client may crash. This happens because certification string isn’t proposed size which is passed by Citrix.

 

Resolution:

Install KB4022155 update for Skype for Business 2016 or 2015 to resolve this issue which is released on June 5, 2018.

 

Note Lync 2013 was updated to Skype for Business in April 2015.
